The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute’s (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towardsachievementofpositivepatientcareoutcomes,maximizingthepatient’sinvolvementintheirownplanofcareand reducing the length of hospitalization, the outpatient RN plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.

TheoutpatientRNisresponsibleformanagingandprovidingcaretothepatientandtheirfamily,andfordirecting and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The outpatient RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Degreein

NursingfromaCCNE(Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ) or Accreditation

Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit.

The Infusion Services unit at James Care East Hospital provides specialized outpatient care for patients requiring intravenous (IV) therapies, including chemotherapy, biologics, blood products, hydration, and other infusion-based treatments. Care is delivered in a patient-centered environment designed for comfort, safety, and efficiency.
