Job Description Summary

Candidates must have recent previous OR RN experience of at least 1 year or more in an acute care hospital OR. Candidates without this experience must apply to the OR RN residency program, including those with previous bedside nursing experience in other areas such as Med‑Surg, Critical Care, ED, and Women’s Health.

This role requires a commitment to on‑call hours. When on‑call, the candidate must report within 30 minutes. 30 minutes is a firm deadline and includes driving to the facility, parking, walking in, changing, and reporting all within that time frame.

• Assessment/Diagnosis – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and/or individual (30%).
• Outcomes Identification/Planning – Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs (30%).
• Implementation/Evaluation – Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; as part of a multidisciplinary team, revises plan of care based on evaluative data (20%).
• Leadership – Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).
• Operations – (10%).
• As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.

• Associate degree in Nursing (required). 5‑year BSN required after 5 years of employment.
• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio.
• BLS certification.
• Recent previous OR RN experience of at least 1 year in an acute care hospital OR. Candidates without this experience must apply to the OR RN residency program, including those with previous bedside nursing experience in other areas such as Med‑Surg, Critical Care, ED, and Women’s Health.
• Commitment to on‑call hours with a 30‑minute response requirement.
