12 James Surg Onc Opportunity

AO 12 James Surg Onc is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. This is a very busy surgical floor. All perm staff is PCU trained. Staffing Ratios - Goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5 Weekends - variable based on unit needs No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff

All travelers may be required to float within their scope of practice! If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department's needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Patient Age Group:
Adults, Geriatrics

Patient Diagnoses:
Surgical Oncology: breast, thyroid, melanoma;
Hepatobiliary: liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine;
Colorectal: colon, rectal cancer;
Plastics: reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma

Special Procedures/Unit Details:
Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

Certifications

Required:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Certifications Preferred: ONS Chemo
