American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele Float Pool position requiring an active OH or compact license and telemetry monitoring skills.
Details- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a teaching hospital setting
- Float pool position requiring flexibility to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00PM-7:30AM
- 36 hours per week
- Availability required for weekdays and some weekends, including holidays
- Uses EPIC electronic health records system
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a MS/Tele setting
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Proficient in IV start, telemetry monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care
- Skills in blood product administration, PICC line management, and cardiac drip management (no titration)
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team protocols
- Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
- IV insulin protocol experience required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills required
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a MS/Tele setting
- Responsible for managing patients with a variety of conditions including CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic trauma
- May care for patients requiring respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
- May manage patients requiring pre/post hemodialysis care and renal failure treatment
- Locals accepted at the same pay rate
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
