American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring telemetry experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
- Cares for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and step-down level care
- Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), 3x per week
- Every other weekend required
- Epic charting system preferred
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Previous telemetry experience required
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
- Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
- Experience with oxygen administration and nasal cannula
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references)
- Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management for PCU patients
- Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
- Complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing contract to avoid credentialing delays
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any location within the system
