American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring telemetry experience and a valid OH or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required (Friday & Saturday nights)
- 13-week contract length
- Epic charting system preferred
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Previous telemetry experience required
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
- Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
- Experience with rapid response/code teams
- Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care and management
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher (coworker references not accepted)
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response for PCU patients
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care and management
- Administer oxygen therapy including nasal cannula
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Candidates with only 1 year of experience may be considered but are subject to manager review rather than automatic offer
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed promptly upon contract signing due to strict compliance deadlines
