Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Description:

1st Timer/16 WKS/12 James PCU - D/N or Nights - AO12 James Surg Onc is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. This is a very busy surgical floor. All perm staff is PCU trained. Staffing Ratios
- Goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5. Weekends - variable based on unit needs. No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff. All travelers may be required to float within their scope of practice! If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs.

Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Patient Diagnoses:
Surgical Oncology: breast, thyroid, melanoma Hepatobiliary: liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine Colorectal: colon, rectal cancer Plastics: reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma Ortho surgery Cardio Thoracic surgery

Chemotherapy Blood transfusions IV Antibiotics Oncologic emergencies cytokine release syndrome Insulin drips Heparin drips Chest tube care
- Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

Certifications

Required:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
