This position involves caring for patients in a specialized unit. You will primarily tend to newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. A key focus of the role is infection prevention protocols. You will be responsible for managing patient falls prevention as well. You should have experience with telemetry monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias. Skills required include using rapid response teams and IV therapy.
You will also manage feeding tube care and administration of blood products. The ideal candidate should be skilled in central line management and starting IVs. Telemetry equipment will be utilized, specifically a GE telemetry system. Candidates must be prepared for variable weekend shifts based on unit needs. Interdisciplinary support will include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. This role necessitates cooperation with various healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Candidates should be aware that additional certifications in oncology care are preferred but not mandatory. Travel experience is essential for this position.
