Must be able to pass the telemetry test. Experience in monitoring telemetry patients is required. Epic experience is required.
Description:
Candidates with only 1 year of experience may be considered but will require management review. Must be able to pass the telemetry test. Should have some experience in monitoring telemetry patients. 1 year of experience is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Skills required include IV start, general nursing skills such as medication administration, patient education, and lab monitoring. Experience with Epic charting system is required.
Candidates should have knowledge in blood product administration, central line care/management, and heparin protocols. Strong skills in interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias are necessary. Experience with isolation precautions and use of personal protective equipment is essential. Candidates must be familiar with IV insulin protocols and non-invasive airway management. Oxygen administration and PCA management skills are important. Telemetry monitoring experience, both unit and remote, is required.
Candidates should be able to titrate insulin drips and work with Rapid Response/Code teams. Wound care experience is also desirable. The unit focuses on adult and geriatric patient populations. The average patient ratio will be maintained as per regulatory standards. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various healthcare professionals. The unit deals with patients recovering from bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and other post-surgical emergencies.
Candidates must comply with the fingerprinting process as dictated by local regulations. References from previous managers or directors are required for verification purposes. Education must be from an accredited nursing program.
