Registered Nurse (RN) - Mother Baby

Inpatient Postpartum RN

Shift type:
Days/Nights/Weekends;
Patient ratios: 3–4 dyads (6–8 patients);
Weekend coverage: required

Unit type: 40-bed inpatient postpartum; family-centered care for mother/infant (couplet care);
Patient population:
Postpartum adults and healthy/newborn neonates

Minimum 2 years postpartum experience;
Labor & Delivery (L&D) and IV start experience required; EPIC charting experience required;
Required certifications: BLS, IV certification, IV start skills;
Telemetry interpretation required; RN expected to pass an EKG exam prior to start

Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and their newborns;
Conduct assessments and monitor patient and newborn conditions;
Administer medications and IV therapies as needed;
Educate patients on breastfeeding and postpartum care;
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes;
Manage and respond to postpartum complications

Orientation: 36 hours;
Pre-approved time off: 2 shifts;
Fingerprinting required with strict deadlines;
Vaccination:
Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required;
Employment eligibility: current employees ineligible; former employees eligible after 6+ months away
