American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring an OH or compact RN license and PCU experience.

• beds unit within a Medical Oncology Telemetry unit with 36 total beds, over 24 dedicated to PCU-level care
• Cares for solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology patients
• Rare pediatric oncology cases may be present but are primarily managed by permanent staff
• Day (7:00-19:30) and Night (19:00-7:30) shifts on a 3x12 schedule, with rotating day/night assignments based on department needs
• Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Staffing ratios approximately 1:4-5 for Med Surg Telemetry and 1:3 for PCU, though ratios may vary based on unit needs
• Weekend shifts are variable
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Uses GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, continuous bladder irrigation, and PCA pumps
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care nursing experience, consistently worked within the last 12 months
• At least 1 year of PCU experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response team utilization, feeding tube management, port access, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line care, IV starts, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA management, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula use, and tracheostomy management
• Preferred skills include dysrhythmia management, IV insulin protocols, insulin drip titration, phlebotomy, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, wound care/wound vac, arterial line management, surgical drain care, and non-invasive airway management
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

• Provide high-acuity PCU-level nursing care with a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
• Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice is valued
• Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with contract request and limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for a travel assignment
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
