American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring OH or compact RN license and prior high-acuity neonatal experience.
Details- Work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of a hospital setting
- Care for neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- May float to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, medical-surgical units, and rarely ED
- May float to the BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU, which involves patients with average stays of 2-3 years, frequent trach care, and heavy parent involvement
- May float to other campuses including OH Health Riverside, Mount Carmel St. Ann's, OH Health Grant Medical, OH Health Dublin Methodist, and OH Health Doctors Hospital
- Epic charting system experience required
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- PALS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required
- Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
- Experience with high-risk deliveries, ventilator management, and neonatal medication administration required
- Skills in UAC/UVC line management, arterial line management, and central line care required
- Experience with respiratory support including CPAP, high frequency ventilation, and oxygen delivery systems required
- Experience managing neonatal conditions such as NEC, sepsis, and respiratory distress syndrome required
- ECMO, therapeutic hypothermia, and VP shunt experience preferred
- Cannot have worked in a permanent position for this health system within the last 2 years
- Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and neurologic support
- Attend high-risk deliveries as needed
- Perform thermoregulation and manage neonatal abstinence syndrome and seizure disorders
- Two-part interview process including an initial screening with the Float Pool Leader and a secondary interview with the NICU unit manager
- Floating to other units and campuses is a standard expectation for this assignment
- Local candidates are not accepted within a 60-mile radius
