American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring OH or compact RN licensure and Epic experience.

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
• Estimated patient ratios of 1:1-2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:30
• 36 hours per week
• Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period, with Friday/Saturday nights
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required:
  
  IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines
• Experience with CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and post cardiac surgery care
• Experience with IABP, CVP monitoring, and epicardial pacing wire care
• Experience with sheath removal and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor, and the second from a manager or charge RN; coworker references not accepted

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization procedures
• Care for patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical circulatory support, and advanced respiratory management
• Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing contract, either in person or via mailed packet depending on distance from Ohio
