American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of cardiac/telemetry experience and a compact or Ohio RN license.

• Hospital-based PCU unit with 24 beds, including 9 cardiac stepdown beds and 15 med-surg beds
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Estimated patient ratios of 1:3-5
• Weekday and every-other-weekend scheduling required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active compact or Ohio RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac and IV insulin drip experience preferred
• Skills required:
  
  IV starts, telemetry, and intermediate care experience
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response skills required
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams required
• Isolation precautions/PPE and respiratory care skills required, including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher (coworker references not accepted)

• Provide telemetry and cardiac stepdown level nursing care within a progressive care unit setting
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing their contract
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for consideration once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for traveler consideration
• Requested time off must be submitted with the initial application and built into the contract
• First-time travelers will be considered as long as they have PCU-level experience
