American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift Registered Nurse for a Step Down/PCU position requiring at least 1 year of progressive care experience and an OH or compact RN license.

• Work in the Step Down/PCU unit of a teaching hospital
• Cardiac telemetry and progressive care patient population
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within OSU facilities
• On-call responsibilities required
• Epic charting system experience required

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of progressive/step down care experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, and arterial line management
• Experience with blood product administration and peripheral line care
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation
• Wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocol experience
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Provide nursing care to cardiac telemetry and progressive care patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response
• Skilled in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Required to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, including travel to an in-state fingerprinting location if outside Ohio
• Requested time off must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
