Registered Nurse – Medical Oncology
12-hour rotating Days/Nights shifts. Weekend assignments are variable based on unit needs.
Goal staffing ratios of 1:4, possibly 1:5. Orientation duration is 72 hours.
Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required. Current acute care experience within the last 12 months in the specialty area is mandatory. Valid compact or state license is required at the time of submission. BLS certification is necessary; ONS Chemotherapy certification is preferred. Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC, is a plus.
Administer chemotherapy and manage associated equipment. Conduct port access and IV starts, as well as blood product administration and central line blood draws. Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias. Manage common medical-surgical issues and provide care for patients with tracheostomies. Implement infection prevention and fall prevention protocols. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient care.
