Registered Nurse – Postpartum
Schedule
Weekend coverage is required.
Assignment Details
Orientation is 36 hours.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years postpartum experience.
- Labor & Delivery experience and IV start skills required.
- EPIC charting experience required.
- Telemetry interpretation required — must pass EKG exam prior to start.
- BLS and IV certification required.
Responsibilities
- Provide couplet care for postpartum adults and healthy newborns.
- Manage postpartum complications including wound infections and preeclampsia.
- Conduct newborn assessments and manage care for NAS infants and low-birth-weight infants.
- Support breastfeeding and monitor newborn hypoglycemia and phototherapy needs.
- Administer medications including Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
Compliance / Notes
Compliance deadline is strict, with necessary background checks including urgent fingerprinting required. Required time off must be built into the contract.
