American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ER Holding position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and a valid Ohio or compact RN license.
Details- Works in the ER Holding unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 7:00
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Epic charting system preferred experience
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required in work history
- ER observation/holding, MS/Tele, Tele, or PCU/Stepdown experience also acceptable
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line management preferred
- Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation preferred
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor and no coworker references accepted
- Responsible for providing emergency and holding-area nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines
- Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to complete fingerprinting; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
- Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this traveler role
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Locals accepted at the same pay rate
- Holiday blackout dates include November 22–28 and December 20–26
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
