American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ER Holding position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and a valid Ohio or compact RN license.

• Works in the ER Holding unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Epic charting system preferred experience

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required in work history
• ER observation/holding, MS/Tele, Tele, or PCU/Stepdown experience also acceptable
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line management preferred
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor and no coworker references accepted

• Responsible for providing emergency and holding-area nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to complete fingerprinting; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this traveler role
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate
• Holiday blackout dates include November 22–28 and December 20–26
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
