Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring 2 years of Level III/IV NICU experience, including 1 year at Level IV, along with an OH or compact RN license.

Details
  • 13-week assignment in a NICU setting
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Float requirement to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS, and rarely ED units
  • Float requirement to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU, which involves frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement due to average length of stay of 2-3 years
  • May float to additional campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Cares for neonates across gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and over 34 weeks
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Ohio State or Compact) required, license must be in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and NRP required; PALS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required
  • Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
  • Experience with high-risk delivery attendance, ventilator management, and respiratory distress syndrome care required
  • Proficient in neonatal medication administration including vasopressors, antibiotics, and anti-seizure medications
  • Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, seizure disorders, and neonatal abstinence syndrome preferred
  • Skilled in gastrointestinal care including NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and tube feedings
  • Two supervisory references required at time of consideration, at least one must be from a manager or supervisor
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including high-risk delivery attendance and complex respiratory and cardiovascular support
  • Two-part interview process: initial screening with Float Pool Leader within 24-48 hours, followed by a second interview at the discretion of the NICU unit manager
  • Floating is a significant requirement and point of emphasis, candidates must be prepared to work in multiple units and campuses
  • Candidates cannot have worked in a permanent role for this health system within the past 2 years
  • No local candidates permitted within a 60-mile radius
  • Skilled care for complex conditions including congenital anomalies, sepsis, and post-abdominal surgery patients
  • Experience with specialized equipment such as oscillators, high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide therapy required
