American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring telemetry experience and cardiac monitoring skills.
Details- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown unit setting
- 36 hours per week on night shift (3x12, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required (Friday & Saturday nights)
- Float required within the OSU system
- Epic charting system preferred
- Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Previous telemetry experience required
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
- Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
- Experience with rapid response/code teams
- Skilled in peripheral line care, IV starting and maintenance, and oxygen administration
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor;
Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response as part of unit care
- Manage IV therapy and peripheral line care/management, including starting and maintaining IVs
- Administer oxygen therapy including nasal cannula
- Practice isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract due to state requirements
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees ineligible to be hired as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
