DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Stepdown RN with 2+ years of pediatric cardiac stepdown experience and an OH or Compact RN license in hand.
Details- Work in the Pediatric Stepdown unit
- Pediatric patients with cardiac defects, both medical and surgical
- Care includes trach/vent management, high flow nasal cannula, post op cath and post CTICU care, inotropes, and heart and lung transplant patients
- Epic EMR experience required
- Day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) and Night (3x12, 19:00-7:00) shifts with rotation between day and night every 6 weeks
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to different units required based on assignment needs
- Active OH or Compact RN license in hand
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric cardiac stepdown experience required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric hospital required
- Prior travel experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and TPN/lipids administration
- Experience with antiarrhythmics and IV vasopressors
- Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
- Cardiovascular skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and post cardiac catheterization care
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Skilled in gastric tube management and NG tube insertion
- 2 professional references required at time of consideration, with at least one from a manager or supervisor
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric cardiac patients in a stepdown setting
- Candidates who previously worked in a permanent role at this facility must have a 2-year gap before being eligible
- No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
