DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a pediatric hospital setting requiring 2 years of adult or pediatric CVOR experience and at least one completed travel assignment.
Details- Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit of a pediatric hospital
- Cares for pediatric cardiovascular surgical patients, including congenital heart disease cases
- Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Call requirement includes 1 weekend per month and 1-2 weeknights per week, totaling approximately 8-9 days per month
- Floating to other units required depending on assignment needs
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required, license must be in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and PALS required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required, adult or pediatric CVOR experience accepted
- At least 1 completed travel assignment required
- Experience with congenital heart disease preferred
- Preferred skills include pediatric cardiovascular procedures such as arterial switch operation, ASD/VSD repair, coarctation of the aorta repair, ECMO insertion/decannulation, Epstein's Anomaly repair, Fontan procedure, Norwood procedure, PDA ligation, Tetralogy of Fallot repair, Transposition of the Great Arteries repair, valve repair/replacement, and ventricular assist device implant
- Preferred professional skills include assisting anesthesia during induction, cardiac monitoring, electrosurgical safety, implant documentation/tracking, instrument processing, radiation safety, and regulatory charting for transplants
- Preferred equipment experience includes cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and tourniquet
- Two professional references required at time of consideration, at least one must be from a supervisor or manager (charge references not accepted)
- Assist with pediatric cardiovascular surgical procedures including heart and lung transplants
- Work within a specialized pediatric CVOR team supporting complex congenital heart cases
- Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the past 2 years
- Local candidates are not permitted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers are not considered due to the travel experience requirement
