Collaborate with physicians under the direction of a Physician or Lead Physician
Provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and evaluation of outpatient clinic patients
Provide care during acute and chronic phases of illness
Educate and counsel individuals
Refer patients to healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate
Coordinate care for clinic patients
Perform history and physical examinations on new and return patients
Establish presumptive diagnoses and general patient workups
Order appropriate laboratory studies and testing
Formulate treatment plans with physicians and conduct follow-up
Conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments
Develop patient care plans within clinical nursing practice and medical care protocols
Review and assess patient medications
Evaluate patient care outcomes and initiate changes in the nursing approach
Triage clinic patient calls and notify physicians as needed
Follow up with patients according to provider instructions
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- NP:
Current Ohio Registered Nursing License - Master's degree in nursing and successful completion of an acceptable Nurse Practitioner education program, or Physician Assistant Program
- Certification to include Prescriptive Authority
- Knowledge of triage procedures
- Clinic, physician office and/or urgent care experience
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for administration of medications and patient care aids
- Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families about disease, care, and treatment
- Ability to convey information in writing and verbally
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
- Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
Demonstrates expertise in patient assessment, treatment planning, and care coordination within outpatient settings, while adhering to clinical nursing practices and medical protocols. Proficient in triage procedures and patient education, ensuring high-quality care and effective communication with patients and families.
