American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and a Level I Trauma Center background.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
- Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility
- Patient ratio of 1:3.5
- Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication dispensing
- Float required
- Every other or every third weekend required
- 36 hours of orientation provided
- Navy scrubs required
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Must be comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, and procedural sedation
- Experience with ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience administering emergency medications and IV vasopressors
- Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted
- Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response duties
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing
