Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring OH or compact license, EPIC experience, and 1 year of travel experience.

Details
  • Onc Pod Emergency Department setting within a cancer hospital
  • 12-hour night shifts (3x12, 19:00-7:30)
  • Floating required
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
  • Level I Trauma Center, STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
Requirements
  • Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years of ED experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience administering emergency medications and IV vasopressors
  • Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and pediatric care
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including oncology cases
  • Manage sickle cell crisis and other emergent presentations as needed
  • Requested time off must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 consecutive days or less for a 14-week assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignments once separated from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of the health system are not eligible for travel positions at any of its hospital locations
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing the contract due to state-mandated credentialing timelines
