American Traveler is hiring a Level III/IV NICU RN for a day-shift assignment requiring OH or compact RN licensure and prior high-acuity neonatal experience.
Details- Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting caring for neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- Uses Epic charting system
- Float requirement to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, medical-surgical, and occasionally ED units
- Float requirement to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU with average length of stay of 2-3 years, requiring comfort with frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement
- May float to additional campuses within the health system
- No guaranteed unit assignment due to floating expectations
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required, including at least 1 year of Level IV NICU experience
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Experience with high-risk deliveries, respiratory distress syndrome, ventilator management, and neonatal sepsis care required
- Familiarity with conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and neonatal abstinence syndrome required
- Two professional references required at time of consideration, with at least one from a manager or supervisor
- Provide comprehensive neonatal ICU nursing care including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management
- Support high-risk deliveries and provide thermoregulation care for premature and critically ill neonates
- Two-part interview process including an initial screening with the float pool leader followed by a unit manager review
- Not eligible for candidates who have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the past 2 years
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Floating to other units and campuses is a firm requirement of this assignment
