American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with Level I Trauma Center expertise for a night-shift assignment requiring active OH or compact RN licensure.
Details- Combined adult/pediatric emergency department setting
- Patient ratio of 1:3.5
- EPIC documentation system used
- Pyxis medication dispensing system used
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- Float required
- Every other or every third weekend required
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
- Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility experience preferred
- Must be comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, and procedural sedation
- Experience with ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
- Experience with continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
- Able to obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted
- 36 hours of orientation provided
- Navy scrubs required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract; candidates far from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet
