Registered Nurse (RN) – Adolescent Behavioral Health Residential Program (QRTP)

DTAC (Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers) is expanding—and we’re looking for a compassionate, skilled Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about helping adolescents heal and thrive. In this role, you’ll work in a Male Adolescent Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) supporting youth ages 10–18 with complex behavioral health, emotional, and trauma-related needs. A QRTP provides a structured, trauma-informed residential environment where adolescents receive comprehensive support from a multidisciplinary treatment team focused on safety, healing, skill development, and long-term success.
Residents live on-site while participating in therapeutic, educational, and behavioral health programming designed to help them build healthy coping skills and achieve lasting positive outcomes. - Perform health assessments (vitals, injuries, behavioral and psychiatric symptoms)
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor for medication effectiveness and side effects
- Document thoroughly in EMR (MARs, nursing notes, PRNs, incidents, etc.)
- Coordinate care with providers, pharmacies, and outside medical services
- Help maintain a structured, trauma-informed environment
- Provide education on wellness, medication, hygiene, and coping skills
- Support individualized treatment plans with the clinical team
- Respond to behavioral and medical emergencies
- Use de-escalation techniques and clinical judgment under pressure
- Monitor for safety risks (self-harm, aggression, environmental concerns)
- Ensure proper protocols and safety procedures are followed
- Participate in treatment planning, team meetings, and discharge planning
- Support and guide direct care staff on medical-related matters
- Communicate effectively across shifts and departments
- Maintain compliance with state regulations, Medicaid standards, and agency policies
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical nursing standards
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
- CPR & First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Adolescent behavioral health or psychiatric nursing
- Residential treatment or crisis stabilization
- Trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques
- Working with high-acuity youth populations
- Accurate, timely documentation and medication administration
- Strong compliance with clinical and safety standards
- Positive contributions to a safe, structured, therapeutic environment
- Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
