American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring telemetry experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
- Some weekend shifts required
- Floating required within the OSU hospital system
- Epic EMR experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown/telemetry experience required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management required
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Provide care for PCU/stepdown patients including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and emergency response
- Manage wound care, feeding tubes, and insulin protocols as needed
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing
