Job Description & How to Apply Below

Vet-Owned. People-First.

Join a rockstar team just minutes from downtown Cincinnati.

Acute Pet Urgent Care in Bellevue, Kentucky is growing - and we’re looking for additional DVMs to complement a team that’s already doing exceptional work.

If you’re looking for a hospital where:

  • The team genuinely enjoys working together
  • The pace is energized but sustainable
  • The medicine is strong
  • And leadership actually understands veterinary life

You’ll want to keep reading.

Why Bellevue?

Tucked just across the river from downtown Cincinnati, Bellevue offers the best of both worlds.

Our hospital sits along The Avenue in historic Bellevue - surrounded by locally owned coffee shops, cozy restaurants, and craft breweries. It’s walkable. It’s vibrant. It has personality.

You can finish your shift and be downtown in minutes - or stay local and grab dinner where the bartender already knows your name.

Small-town heartbeat. City access. Real community.

Why This Role Is Different

Bellevue isn’t a startup. It’s a thriving urgent care location with strong team chemistry, growing demand, and a reputation in the community.

We’re hiring because the caseload supports it - and because we want to protect the sustainability of our team as we grow.

You’ll practice emergency-level medicine in an urgent care setting, seeing cases like:

  • Lacerations and minor trauma
  • GI workups and obstruction rule-outs
  • Toxin ingestions
  • Acute illness and stabilization
  • Urgent diagnostics

All without overnights or major holidays.

Who This Is Built For

This opportunity is ideal for:

  • ER doctors ready to step away from overnight intensity while still practicing high-level medicine
  • Experienced GPs looking to expand their diagnostic confidence
  • Confident newer grads who value mentorship and collaboration

You’ll be supported by experienced Managing Veterinarians and leadership that includes a board-certified criticalist as Chief Medical Officer.

We believe in autonomy with backup. Confidence with collaboration.

What It’s Like to Work at Acute Pet

We’re a vet-owned organization built by people who understand the demands of this profession. Our leadership team includes experienced DVMs, Managing Veterinarians, and a board-certified criticalist serving as Chief Medical Officer.

You’ll practice medicine in an environment that values:

  • Collaboration over hierarchy
  • Mentorship without micromanagement
  • Transparent communication
  • Sustainable scheduling
  • Real investment in your well-being

We believe great medicine and balanced lives are not mutually exclusive.

What We’re Looking For
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (or equivalent)
  • All experience levels welcome
  • Interest in urgent care or emergency-style diagnostics
  • Strong clinical reasoning and thoughtful patient care
  • Clear, compassionate client communication
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary with 25% production pay (whichever is greater), no negative accrual
  • No overnights or major holidays
  • Up to six weeks paid parental/adoptive leave
  • Paid time off that supports life outside of work
  • 100% company-paid health, dental, and life insurance premiums
  • Vision, disability, HSA, 401(k), and Employee Assistance Program
  • Employee pet care discounts
  • Dedicated mentorship time and structured 1:1 growth conversations
  • Continuing education support
  • No non-competes. No contracts.

If you’re ready to help build a hospital that reflects your standards, your voice, and your commitment to great medicine - we’d love to connect.
