DLL is seeking a fertilization technician as an essential part of our operations. We will consider experienced technicians or will be happy to provide training. The Fertilizer Technician reports to the Field Operations Director. The Field Operations Director and other fertilization technicians will provide training, guidance, and support to the Fertilizer Technician.

Requirements
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and be insurable for DLL vehicle insurance.
  • Ohio Pesticide Applicator License (helpful but not required)
  • Previous experience in landscaping.
Experience
  • Knowledge of fertilization products and processes will be valued.
Duties and Tasks

This is a physically demanding job that involves working in inclement weather. Because this is an all-weather job, the employee must be able to function and tolerate changing seasons.

  • Adopt daily work habits to ensure a safe working environment for himself and his co-workers.
  • Ensure that assigned tasks are completed safely, prioritizing productivity. Assume that a customer will be walking through the area at any time.
  • Carry out fertilization applications
  • Comply with all Department of Agriculture standards and guidelines.
  • Recognize potential problems and provide solutions.
  • Communicate all problems and concerns to your Field Operations Manager
  • Follow all specific customer instructions given by the Operations Director
  • Begin your shift by meeting with the Field Operations Manager in order to:
    • Review KPIs from the previous day (productivity)
    • Review customer feedback on previous work.
    • Review the schedule and work priorities for the day.
    • Check the estimated time to complete the assigned tasks.
  • Use supplies efficiently to reduce waste. Communicate ordering needs to the Operations Director.
  • Use company-provided equipment in a manner that reduces wear and tear and eliminates unnecessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate changes in workload to the Field Operations Director to ensure productivity during all shifts.
  • Understand and commit to DLL's promise to deliver quality work to all customers the first time.
  • Create a team environment: share your knowledge with other workers
  • Notify the Field Operations Manager if you do not know how to perform a task or use the equipment correctly.
  • Confirm the quality of the work before leaving each client's site: no returns
  • Record your arrival, departure, and lunch breaks
  • Wear the uniform designated by the company and PPE at all times.
