Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Technician, Formulation Development to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of pharmaceutical dosage forms within the Formulation Development laboratory through equipment set‑up, operation and cleaning. You will execute the processing and testing of developmental batches with minimal supervision.

The level of project difficulty encompasses projects that challenge and promote growth of technical skills. You will support overall operations of the Formulation Development Laboratory and Department and identify and execute process improvements to increase efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Manufacturing & Operations:
    • Support scientists in developing pharmaceutical formulations and pilot/registration lots
    • Set up, operate, clean, and maintain laboratory and pilot‑scale equipment with minimal supervision
    • Manufacture, package, and monitor laboratory, pilot, and registration batches across various processes (e.g., blending, granulation, coating)
    • Ensure materials and equipment are ready and suitable for use
  • Testing & Documentation:
    • Collect samples and perform physical and chemical testing per specifications
    • Complete accurate, timely documentation in compliance with cGMP and SOPs
    • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization; complete all required GMP tasks
  • Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement:
    • Monitor processes, identify issues, adjust equipment, and elevate concerns as needed
    • Recommend and implement process, equipment, and system improvements
    • Share best practices and lessons learned to improve efficiency
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to meet project goals
    • Clearly communicate information, risks, and progress
    • Support ANDA filings and new product launches
  • Equipment & SME Ownership:
    • Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and maintain equipment in optimal condition
    • Serve as SME for designated equipment, including training, troubleshooting, and maintenance coordination
  • Laboratory Support:
    • Perform general lab operations (inventory, ordering, calibration, resource management)
    • Support cleaning validation and ensure adherence to all lab practices and guidelines
  • Performance & Quality:
    • Complete tasks accurately, on time, and with minimal supervision
    • Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and customer focus
    • Operate efficiently within departmental processes and resources
Qualifications

Education & Experience

High school diploma (5+ years), associate degree (3+ years), or bachelor’s degree (2+ years) with experience in equipment set‑up, operation, and maintenance.

Technical Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude with in‑depth knowledge of manufacturing equipment and pharmaceutical processes/testing. Ability to accurately perform data review, calculations, and documentation.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and internal systems (e.g., Labware); able to navigate basic software.
