Location and ShiftColumbus, Ohio – Abbott Nutrition Division, Columbus Plant. Shift: Sunday – Wednesday, 8:00p.m. – 6:30a.m. and Wednesday – Saturday, 8:00p.m. – 6:30a.m.
Responsibilities- Apply high‑quality scientific techniques in the microbiological analysis of raw ingredients, in‑process production samples, finished product testing and environmental monitoring to ensure all products manufactured are fit for use.
- Collaborate with fellow microbiologists, maintaining a high degree of motivation, attention to detail, and clear communication with all team members.
- Prioritize tasks to efficiently complete them with the most accurate results, and communicate clearly in a team environment.
- Conduct product testing, environmental testing, and raw ingredient testing.
- Handle documentation, project work, and troubleshooting activities.
- Prepare media and perform general laboratory work, including housekeeping.
- Maintain effective communication and teamwork across the department.
- High School Diploma plus 4 years of experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing laboratory environment; OR
- High School Diploma + 1 year of relevant college lab studies and 1 year of college mathematics, plus 2 years of laboratory experience.
- 3+ years of experience working in a food, pharmaceutical, or medical device plant, or in a hospital/medical laboratory.
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.
- Proficiency in LIMSA, aseptic technique, and gram staining.
- Preferred:
Science‑related Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of appropriate college lab studies and 1 year of college mathematics.
- Production areas that are clean, well‑lit, and temperature‑controlled.

The base pay for this position is $29.55–$59.05 per hour. Pay may vary by location within the same range.
Work EnvironmentContinuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8‑hour day). No travel required. No medical surveillance.
