Quality Engineer

Motherson Yachiyo AY Manufacturing Ltd., a Tier 1 assembler of Sunroofs for the automotive industry, is searching for a Quality Engineer at our Westside Columbus Ohio facility.

This position will support the development and implementation of quality systems to ensure finished products meet both company and customer requirements. Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives and coordinate cross-functional quality activities within the plant as needed.

• Root cause analysis of customer, internal, and/or supplier product and process concerns.
• Customer liaison for company products (new model and mass production).
• Champion for customer requested corrective action reports.
• Ensure hard countermeasures in place for all customer related concerns to eliminate repeat issues.
• Analyze customer, internal, and/or supplier metrics/data to identify and address improvement opportunities before they become issues.
• Maintain Processing Documentation [PFEMA / PQCT / Internal & supplier quality standards / limit samples / Etc.].
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings, statistical, and analytical data.
• Understand product and testing specifications.
• Ensure the containment of non-conforming products: initiate and manage supplier, internal, and customer sorts.
• New model and Quality process development/develop quality control/assurance processes.
• Champion technical projects as assigned.
• Work as team member for plant Improvement activities

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ISE/Quality with proven 2+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Tier 1 automotive
• Proven problem solving, decision making, situation analysis, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
• Ability to read technical drawings, specifications with hands on PPAP and APQP experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent documentation, hands-on mentality and leadership skills
• Must be able to travel, international and domestic, occasionally with minimal notice
