Amsted Rail-Griffin Wheel, the leading manufacturer of railroad wheels in North America, is seeking a qualified individual for the Wheel Inspector role at our Groveport foundry. The position involves magnaglo, ultrasonic, and visual inspection of wheels for surface and sub-surface defects to maintain quality standards. The successful candidate will set up, change, adjust, and operate testing equipment within established standards, properly mark wheel defects, and record data on forms or electronically.
Hours of work will include evening or afternoon shifts with daily and weekend overtime required.
Ideal candidates possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional education considered a plus. Preference is given to individuals with recent quality assurance experience, training in testing equipment, and proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including magnaglo and ultrasonic testing. Candidates must be willing to attain Level I inspector qualification and work overtime as the schedule dictates.
