$70,000 - $90,000 with 10% bonus potential
We are partnering with a growing manufacturing company that is looking to hire a Quality Department Lead who will have the opportunity to build and shape the entire quality function. This is a highly visible role within a company of approximately 55-60 employees, supporting a production team of 20-25 employees.
This position offers a unique opportunity for someone who wants to make a significant impact. The company plans to hire this individual first and then build out the quality team by adding two Quality Technicians underneath them.
What You'll Be Doing:This role has two primary areas of responsibility:
Supplier Quality & Documentation- Develop and maintain PPAP packages and customer-required quality documentation
- Create and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and related quality documentation
- Manage supplier qualifications, supplier quality requirements, and supplier audits
- Ensure documentation and records comply with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements
- Support internal and external quality audits
- Develop and improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS)
- Establish effective in-process quality controls throughout manufacturing operations
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and quality projects
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and other departments to improve product quality and manufacturability
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (preferred)
- 3-5+ years of Quality Experience in a manufacturing environment (electronics preferred)
- Experience with PPAPs, FMEAs, Control Plans, and quality documentation
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Familiarity with inspection tools such as calipers, gauges, and related measuring equipment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
- Solid Works experience is preferred
