** Position Overview*
* Our client is seeking a
** QA Analyst I
** to join their close-knit Quality team supporting a commercial food manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career Quality professional looking to gain hands-on experience in food manufacturing while working alongside an experienced QA team.
** Responsibilities*
* + Perform routine physical and chemical testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
+ Collect product samples and conduct quality inspections throughout production.
+ Monitor critical control points (CCPs), including pH, water activity, and metal detection.
+ Perform raw ingredient inspections, in-process quality checks, finished product testing, weight verification, and packaging inspections.
+ Support GMP, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and environmental monitoring programs.
+ Complete batch documentation and maintain accurate quality records.
+ Assist with customer complaint investigations, product evaluations, and special quality projects.
+ Communicate quality concerns to production and assist with troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
+ Collect and maintain retain samples according to established procedures.
+ Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain a clean, organized laboratory.
+ Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), OSHA, HACCP, and company food safety programs.
+ Participate in internal audits and support regulatory inspections as needed.
+ Work closely with Production and Quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
** Facility & Team*
* + Small, collaborative QA team consisting of the QA Manager and three additional QA Analysts.
+ Opportunity to work in a smaller facility where team members gain exposure to a broad range of quality responsibilities beyond routine laboratory testing.
+ Fast-paced but supportive environment with opportunities to assist with special projects and process improvements.
+ Very little weekend work (occasional Saturdays only when business needs require).
+ One onsite interview with a quick hiring process.
+ Position available due to an upcoming team vacancy.
** Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in
** Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or another related scientific discipline
** preferred.
+ Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
+ Previous food manufacturing, laboratory, QA, QC, or internship experience is a plus.
+ Basic understanding of food safety principles, GMPs, HACCP, and laboratory practices.
+ Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
+ Comfortable working in both laboratory and production environments.
** Work Environment*
* This position supports an FDA-regulated commercial food manufacturing facility. Employees work in both laboratory and manufacturing environments and should be comfortable spending time on the production floor.
The manufacturing environment includes:
+ Industrial mixers and processing equipment
+ Production and packaging lines
+ Metal detection systems
+ Freezers and refrigerated areas
+ Food manufacturing equipment and ingredient handling
Candidates should be comfortable working around varying temperatures, noise, moving equipment, and food manufacturing operations while following all PPE, GMP, and food safety requirements.
