KGO is expanding our mission-critical team and seeking experienced QA/QC Managers to support major data center construction projects across multiple locations.

These are full-time, on-site positions requiring five days per week at the project site. We are specifically looking for professionals who currently live within a reasonable commuting distance of the site they will support. These are not remote or rotational/fly-in positions.

The Role

As a Data Center QA/QC Manager, you will take a hands‑on role in implementing and maintaining the project's Quality Control Program and ensuring construction activities comply with contract documents, engineering specifications, applicable codes, and project quality requirements.

This position requires an experienced construction quality professional who is comfortable working in the field, coordinating with project teams and trade partners, identifying deficiencies, managing corrective actions, and driving quality from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement, and maintain the project's Quality Control Plan (QCP)
  • Control construction quality in accordance with plans, specifications, contract documents, and applicable codes
  • Coordinate QA/QC inspections, sampling, testing, and field operations
  • Review submittals and maintain submittal status logs and testing plans
  • Ensure submittals are prepared, reviewed, and approved in a timely manner to avoid project delays
  • Review QA/QC documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Coordinate shop drawing approvals and material status reporting
  • Manage the four‑phase quality process:
Submittal, Pre‑Installation, Initial Inspection, and Follow‑Up
  • Participate in preconstruction and pre‑installation conferences, daily huddles, and weekly project meetings
  • Conduct field quality control inspections and support special inspections
  • Identify nonconforming work and recommend corrective actions
  • Manage Observations, NCRs, rework lists, punch lists, and corrective‑action documentation
  • Oversee retesting and reinspection until compliance is achieved
  • Proactively identify deficient workmanship and drive timely corrective measures
  • Ensure as‑built drawings and material records remain current and available on‑site
  • Review test reports and inspection documentation
  • Support commissioning activities through completion of Level 3 commissioning
  • Assist with LEED and sustainability documentation as required
  • Support project closeout, including warranties, as‑built documentation, reports, logs, and records
Experience We're Looking For

Successful candidates should bring significant QA/QC experience in complex construction environments, with a strong preference for data center, mission‑critical, power generation, or heavy industrial construction experience.

Candidates should have:

  • High school diploma required
  • Significant QA/QC experience in heavy industrial construction; 15+ years is strongly preferred for this manager‑level role
  • Data center construction experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated greenfield construction experience, particularly involving electrical installations
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and as‑built drawings
  • Experience monitoring and overseeing electrical installations
  • Hands‑on familiarity with CSA, commissioning process mapping, load banks, Bus Duct, Cable Bus, and HV/MV/LV systems
  • Experience performing electrical and final‑system walk‑downs and testing
  • Knowledge of API/ASME specifications and code verification
  • Experience reviewing weld mapping, bolt‑up/flange mapping, heat numbers, Mill Test Reports (MTRs), and related construction test documentation
  • Experience with third‑party inspections and conducting quality assurance audits
  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices
  • Strong documentation, organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Formal QA/QC inspection, certification, or licensing training is preferred
