General Job Description Position Overview

IES Residential is seeking a Multi Family - Quality Control Specialist to join our team. The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for supporting quality assurance and quality control operations to ensure projects, installations, and company processes meet established standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with field personnel, project teams, customers, and leadership to maintain quality standards, identify deficiencies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct inspections, audits, and evaluations to ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor project activities and operational processes to verify quality expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Identify quality deficiencies, document findings, and communicate corrective action requirements to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain quality control records, reports, inspection documentation, and tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations, field personnel, and leadership to resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Verify completion of corrective actions and follow-up inspections as required.
  • Assist in implementing quality control procedures, standards, and best practices across operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workmanship quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide quality-related updates and recommendations.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams regarding quality expectations and concerns.
  • Maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes, inspections, and operational best practices preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management or project tracking software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and teams.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks.
  • English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Previous quality control, inspections, construction operations, or related experience preferred.
  • Residential construction or service industry experience preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, bend, climb, and movement between office and job site environments.
  • Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
  • Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
  • Work in a typical office environment, sitting at a desk and performing prolonged computer work, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology.
