Govig Healthcare Group is seeking a Director of Development on behalf of a Midwest-based real estate development firm specializing in healthcare, senior living, active adult, and related residential development
.
This role is ideal for a highly analytical and detail-oriented development professional who thrives in navigating entitlement processes, coordinating consultants, and driving projects from concept through closing. The organization is seeking a technical development operator who can bring structure, precision, and execution strength to the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Lead projects through zoning, entitlement, and municipal approval processes
- Navigate variances, code requirements, and regulatory hurdles to ensure timely progression
- Coordinate and manage third-party partners including civil engineers, architects, consultants, and legal teams
- Oversee project schedules, documentation, and key development milestones
- Participate in deal structuring and support closing activities
- Assist with underwriting, feasibility analysis, and due diligence efforts as needed
- Identify and proactively resolve issues that may impact approvals, budgets, or timelines
- Collaborate with internal leadership to ensure seamless project execution
- Represent the organization in municipal and stakeholder meetings when appropriate
- Experience with in senior living, active adult, healthcare, multifamily, mixed-use, or related real estate asset classes preferred
- Development experience spanning multiple phases of the real estate development lifecycle
- Direct experience working with municipalities, zoning boards, and entitlement processes
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate civil engineers, architects, and external consultants
- Experience participating in and supporting deal closings
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented work style
- Organized, process-driven, and proactive problem solver
- Ability to operate effectively behind the scenes while contributing in meetings as needed
- Self-motivated and driven, with a focus on execution rather than front-end deal sourcing
