Overview
The Ohio State University is actively seeking a motivated and talented Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team in the Neurology Department. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work on ongoing grant-funded projects broadly centered around pathogenic B cells associated with multiple sclerosis and animal models of multiple sclerosis. The candidate will perform neuroimmunology research as directed by the PI in the department of Neurology;
independently conduct assigned human tissue and fluid samples and mouse model work. The candidate is expected to be able to perform animal tissue harvest and processing, flow cytometry, FACS sorting, cell culture, nucleic acid extractions, and molecular analysis. The candidate should be able to summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare research progress reports; assist the principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts;
and other administrative duties as assigned by the principal investigator. The candidate will oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities; assist with training of junior research staff and undergraduate students in research methods and equipment operation; set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed.
- Perform neuroimmunology research on grant-funded projects related to multiple sclerosis.
- Conduct animal tissue harvest and processing, flow cytometry, FACS sorting, cell culture, nucleic acid extractions, and molecular analyses.
- Summarize data for grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare progress reports; assist with publications, posters, abstracts; and perform other administrative duties as assigned by the PI.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities and assist with training of junior staff and undergraduate students.
- Set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor supplies and initiate procurement requests as needed.
- Ph.D. in neuroscience, immunology, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Strong research and data analysis skills, statistical proficiency, and exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to collaborate within diverse teams and demonstrate independent research capabilities with a track record of research productivity (peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations).

To be considered for this Postdoctoral Scholar position, candidates must possess a Ph.D. in neuroscience, immunology, molecular biology, or a closely related field. Candidates should demonstrate strong research skills, data analysis proficiency, and statistical expertise, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively within diverse teams while also showcasing independent research capabilities and a strong trajectory toward research productivity, including peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
