Dentistry | Biosciences The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to work collaboratively with the Division of Biosciences. This is a term position for a maximum 4-year duration and is dependent on grant funding. The Division of Biosciences is a multidisciplinary basic science unit committed to research and teaching in the broad area of biosciences. All faculty members within the Division are engaged in active research programs and are funded by a variety of organizations including the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.
The team is looking for a self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented person enthusiastic about basic science to join a team-based laboratory studying the molecular biology of dental and peripheral nervous system development.
The Research Assistant/postdoctoral fellow will perform laboratory experiments and activities including: mouse handling and procedures including surgeries and dissections on mice, histology, cryosectioning, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, genotyping, quantitative PCR, micro-computed tomography, fluorescent and confocal microscopy imaging, cell culture, and computer based data analysis. Digital PCR and new imaging modalities will be included and it is expected that the candidate can troubleshoot and learn independently.
Lastly, the Research Assistant/postdoctoral fellow will present collected data at weekly group lab meetings and in one-on-one meetings with the primary investigator and contribute figures and text to scientific posters and publications by laboratory members.

* • Successful completion of a background check.
• Selected candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following: blood borne pathogens; chemical hazards (skin irritants); equipment; and use of sharp instruments.
This position is grant funded. Continuation of the role is not guaranteed and is subject to the renewal or availability of those funds.

* Work Schedule:
** The work schedule is flexible in terms of the daily beginning and ending time. It is expected that at least 40 hours per week will be accomplished.

* Physical Requirements:
** The body must be able to reach, bend, stoop and reach in order to perform most clinical procedures. The ability to sit and stand for a duration of time is also necessary. Other specific requirements include color spectrum differentiation; manual dexterity/motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, physical communications; visual acuity and communication/language development. Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following: blood borne pathogens;
