Research Associate## Department:

Medicine | IM Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to assist with experiments in molecular and cellular biology. The successful candidate will work closely with our research team to perform laboratory procedures following established protocols.

* Key Responsibilities:

*
* · Prepare and administer injections to pup and adult rodents retro-orbitally, intraperitoneally, and subcutaneously
· Prepare mice for research including survival and non-survival surgeries that approved by the IACUC committee
· Perform animal studies, such as insulin clamps, glucose tolerance test, etc.
· Perform thorough dissections, properly preserving the tissues with formalin, OCT, or freezing
· Use the cryostat to make slides from preserved tissues, perform specific staining and relative analysis
· Conduct molecular and cellular biology experiments, including immunoblotting (Western blot) and quantitative PCR (qPCR)
* Assist with general lab maintenance and inventory; follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
* Maintain and manage mouse colonies, including genotyping, breeding, weaning, experimental treatments, and basic husbandry
* Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental procedures and results, Analyze and interpret data collected to make conclusions and adjustments to experiments

* Qualifications:

*** Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field preferred (Master’s degree not required)
* Prior hands-on experience with mouse handling and colony maintenance is
** required
* ** Experience with animal surgery or primary cell culturing is strongly preferred
* Strong attention to detail, ability to follow protocols precisely, and good organizational skills
* Effective communication and ability to work both independently and as part of a team## Additional Information:
