Research Senior Technician - Comprehensive Cancer Center

Research Senior Technician participates in planning, design, execution, and management of research projects in Dr. Liping Yang’s group at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Ohio State University.

• Design and execute complex laboratory experiments.
• Perform advanced molecular and cellular techniques including spectral flow cytometry, single‑cell proteomics/genomics, CRISPR, highly multiplexed tissue imaging, and spatial transcriptomics.
• Manage mouse colonies: handle weaning, genotyping, breeding, animal studies, and collection of tissues and primary cells.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret research data.
• Assist in developing and implementing new or revised research methodologies and techniques.
• Test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods; make recommendations for utilization.
• Establish controls, criteria, and research standards.
• Conduct critical literature analysis relevant to ongoing research.
• Assist in preparing research papers, manuscripts, presentations at national conferences, workshops, project reports, and other documents.
• Help principal investigator prepare proposals for new or renewal extramural funding.
• Conduct library research on requested topics.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Train junior research staff, undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment.
• Monitor supplies, inventory, and initiate procurement requests as needed.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required.
• High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Associate’s Degree, 0 years of relevant experience required.
• Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge in biological/health science research.
