Shift: First Shift

• Independently conduct assigned experiments
• Perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures, and Northern and Western analysis
• Sort and process tissue and blood samples
• Test and evaluate current procedures
• Perform routine procedures on laboratory animals
• Record, consolidate and assist with analysis of research results
• Assist in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures
• Summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts
• Prepare research progress reports
• Assist principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts
• Conduct library research on requested topics through researching current literature
• Oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities
• Assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment
• Monitor research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiate procurement requests as needed

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required
• High School diploma or GED; 2 years of relevant experience required
• Associate's Degree; 0 years of relevant experience required
• Bachelor's Degree; 0 years of relevant experience required
