Visiting Scholar – Skin Cancer Research
Visiting fellow to gain personal and professional growth by specialized research training and experience under the guidance of Dr. Kawasumi in the Comprehensive Cancer Center. The visiting scholar (1‑year term) will conduct independent and collaborative research projects in the Kawasumi Lab at The Ohio State University focusing on skin cancer biology and epigenetics. The work will investigate genomic and epigenomic abnormalities in skin cancer and explore ways to modulate DNA damage responses or epigenetic changes to inhibit skin cancer.
Responsibilities- Design and conduct independent research projects in skin cancer biology and epigenetics.
- Collaborate with the Kawasumi Lab team on experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Develop novel approaches to modulate DNA damage responses or epigenetic changes in skin cancer models.
- Present findings in laboratory meetings and prepare manuscripts for publication.
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine, immunology, molecular biology, biology, biochemistry, or related field.
- Strong background in cellular and molecular biology techniques.
- Experience with genomic or epigenomic methods is preferred.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
