The Research Scientist will lead and support innovative research initiatives within artificial intelligence, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and technology within the university‑wide AI (X) Hub. This role involves designing innovative AI‑based solutions for diverse applications, working with domain experts to conduct experiments, analyzing data, publishing findings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

• Lead research initiatives within the AI (X) Hub and across 15 colleges.
• Design and develop AI‑based solutions for diverse applications.
• Collaborate with domain experts to conduct experiments and analyze data.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and conferences.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the university.

• A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent terminal degree.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting independent research.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Proficiency in relevant laboratory techniques, software, or analytical tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.

• Experience with interdisciplinary research projects.
• Prior success in securing research funding.
• Experience with emerging AI‑based methodologies, software, tools, and systems.
• Familiarity with project management and research administration.
• Mentoring experience.

The salary for this position will start at $140,000 annually and will be commensurate with education, experience, peer equity, and the unit's available budget.
