Visiting Scholar - HCS
The Department of Horticulture and Crop Science within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), located in Kottman Hall, is seeking a Visiting Scholar for a temporary appointment of less than one year. This position provides hands-on experience supporting research activities in weed science, including field, greenhouse, and laboratory work, along with opportunities to contribute to independent research projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the planning, setup, and execution of weed science field trials
- Collect, record, and manage research data with accuracy and attention to detail
- Provide support in laboratory, greenhouse, and field environments
- Participate in general research activities and provide assistance as needed
- Maintain research equipment and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols
- Contribute to or develop an independent research project (opportunity based on interest and performance)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
- Horticulture

- Strong organizational and data management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to perform outdoor fieldwork in varying conditions
- Attention to detail and commitment to research accuracy
