Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex scientific investigations in a foundational biological/health science laboratory.
  • Serve as a specialist or technical expert in epigenomic and transcriptomic mechanisms that contribute to neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator to design, manage, and implement research projects.
  • Plan, design, and conduct advanced experiments; execute molecular, biochemical, or other specialized procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise in mouse and cellular models of neurodegeneration, circadian rhythms, and multi-omics analyses.
  • Extract, analyze, and evaluate experimental data; develop and implement new or revised methodologies.
  • Establish criteria, controls, and standards to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, and reports for publication and present findings at conferences.
  • Support grant development by drafting, editing, and critiquing proposals; identify potential funding sources; cultivate relationships with sponsors.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, ensure proper maintenance of equipment, negotiate and manage service contracts, and implement SOPs and safety protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with regulations; train research staff; serve as consultant to other investigators.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Biology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in molecular, biochemical, and/or cell-based research methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
