The successful candidate will leverage a combination of advanced molecular and systems neuroscience methodologies to advance our understanding of selective autophagy and lipid metabolism in glial cells to ultimately gain insights into autophagy's function in human neurodevelopmental disorders and breast cancer brain metastasis. This position provides the opportunity of strong mentorship and a close, multidisciplinary collaborative research environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the state-of-the-art research using genetic mouse models for histology, single-cell transcriptomic, and spatial transcriptomic analysis for brain metastasis research.
  • Utilizing hESC/iPSC derived human cerebral organoid for in vitro 3D models to examine the microenvironment of brain metastasis.
  • Adopt optogenetic and chemo genetic approaches to clarify the cell-cell interaction of neural cells with metastatic breast cancer cells in brain and cerebral organoids.
  • Prepare figures, manuscripts, abstracts, and grant submission materials for publication and/or presentation.
  • Present research findings at lab meetings, institutional seminars, and conferences/symposiums.
  • Mentor graduate students and/or junior trainees as appropriate.
